Baseball Player
of the Week
Steven Lindemuth, Christopher
Newport - The junior first
baseman from Burke, Virginia hit .500 (8-for-16) with
nine runs scored, eight RBI, one double, one home run, two walks
and one sacrifice fly in a 4-0 week for the nationally-ranked
Captains. In a 13-3 win over Albertus Magnus, Lindemuth was hitless
but did score two runs and added one walk. In a 10-1 victory over
Virginia Wesleyan, Lindemuth was 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs
scored and one double. Finally, in a two-game sweep of USA South
foe Ferrum, Lindemuth was a combined 5-for-7 with five runs scored,
five RBI, one home run and one walk. Also Nominated: Brandon

Baseball Pitcher of
the Week
Tre' Britt, Methodist - The
Lumberton, North Carolina senior earned the win in a
4-0 victory over USA South foe Averett in his only
appearance last week. Britt tossed eight
shutout-innings allowing nine hits and no walks
while striking out five. Also Nominated: Tyler Long, Averett;
Greg Goldsmith, Christopher Newport; Greg Van Sickler,
Shenandoah.
Softball Player
of the Week
Shelbie Hall, Ferrum - The
sophomore outfielder/pitcher from Glen
Allen, Virginia hit .632 (12-for-19) with nine RBI,
seven runs scored, four doubles, one triple and one
hit-by-pitch as the Panthers posted a 5-0 record last week. In
addition to her offensive performance, Hall tossed four-perfect
innings in relief. In a 15-0 win over Cazenovia, Hall was a perfect
4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs scored, two doubles and one
triple. In a 7-1 victory over Castleton, Hall was 3-for-4 with two
runs scored, one run batted in and one double. In a 7-0 win over
Emory & Henry, Hall was 1-for4 with one run scored.
In a 9-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite, Hall was 3-for-4 with two
RBI, one run scored and one double. Finally, in a 9-0 win over
Wartburg, Hall was 1-for-3 with one run batted in. Also

Softball Pitcher
of the Week
Hannah Shumaker, Ferrum -
The Blanch, North Carolina junior posted a 2-0 record last
week in two appearances for the Panthers. Shumaker tossed a total
of 11-scoreless innings allowing four hits with three
walks and ten strikeouts. In addition to her performance
in the pitching circle, Shumaker posted a batting average of .357
(5-for-14) with eight runs scored and four RBI. In a 15-0 win over
Cazenovia, Shumaker tossed four innings, allowing one hit with one
walk and six strikeouts. In a 7-0 victory over Emory & Henry,
Shumaker went the distance and allowed three hits with two walks

Lacrosse Player
of the Week
Jasmine Stephens,
Methodist - The Clemmons, North
Carolina junior midfielder tallied 16 points on
15 goals and one assist as the Monarchs posted a 2-1
record last week. Stephens also contributed ten groundballs, eight
caused turnovers and eight draw controls. In a 19-8 loss to Berry,
Stephens totaled five goals, four draw controls and three caused
turnovers. In an 18-7 win over USA South foe LaGrange, Stephens
scored seven goals, collected five groundballs, grabbed three draw
controls and caused three turnovers. Finally, in an 18-9 victory
over USA South rival Agnes Scott, Stephens contributed three goals,
one assist, five groundballs, two caused turnovers and one draw

Lacrosse Defensive Player of the
Week
Rachel Tomlinson, Christopher
Newport - The Springfield,
Virginia sophomore midfielder scored four goals and added
an assist in a 19-7 win over USA South rival Greensboro
in the team's only action last week. Tomlinson also collected
a team-high seven groundballs and seven draw controls.
Men's Tennis Player of
the Week
Matthew Taylor, Methodist - The
senior from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania posted
a 4-0 record at the number-one singles and doubles
flights last week for the Monarchs. Taylor posted
straight-set singles wins over opponents from John Carroll, Young
Harris, Penn State-Behrend and Moravian. In doubles action,
Taylor teamed with Duncan Miller to earn each of the four
victories last week.
Women's Tennis Player
of the Week
Kim Morrissett, Christopher Newport
- The sophomore from Midlothian,
Virginia has posted a 5-0 record at the
number-three singles flight and a 5-0 record at the number-two
doubles position over the past two weeks for the
Captains. Each of Morrissett's victories were of
the straight-set variety. In doubles action,
Morrissett teamed with Morgan Huff to earn each of the
five victories last week. Also Nominated: Kelli Shelton,
Methodist.

Newport - The freshman from
Mechanicsville, Virginia hit .500 (6-for-12) with five
runs scored, five RBI, one double, one home run, three walks,
two hit-by-pitches and one stolen base as the
Captains posted a 4-0 record last week. In a 13-3 win
over Albertus Magnus, Steel was hitless but contribute one run
scored, one run batted in, one walk and one stolen base. In a
10-1 victory over Virginia Wesleyan, Steel was a perfect 3-for-3
with four RBI, two runs scored, one home run and one
walk. Finally, in a two-game sweep of USA South foe Ferrum,
Steel was a combined 3-for-7 with two runs scored, one double and

Judge, Methodist - The Triangle,
Virginia freshman earned the win in a
9-1 victory over nationally-ranked Keystone in his
only appearance last week. Judge tossed six
innings allowing one run on five hits with one walk and five
strikeouts. Also Nominated: Bryan Bierlein, Christopher
Newport.

Karly Thompson,
Ferrum - The
freshman outfielder from Lorton, Virginia hit
.500 (7-for-14) with six RBI, four runs scored, one double,
one triple, one walk, two sacrifice hits and one stolen
base last week as the Panthers posted a 5-0 record last
week. In a 15-0 win over Cazenovia,
Thompson was 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs
scored, one double, one triple and one stolen base.
In a 7-1 victory over Castleton, Thompson was hitless. In a
7-0 win over Emory & Henry, Thompson was 3-for4 with
one run scored and one run batted in. In a 9-0 victory over
Eastern Mennonite, Hall was 1-for-3 with one run scored, one run
batted in and one walk. Finally, in a 9-0 win over Wartburg,

Week
Hannah Wilkerson, Christopher
Newport - The Falls Church,
Virginia freshman goalkeeper collected ten saves in a
19-7 win over USA South rival Greensboro in the team's only
action last week. Wilkerson also grabbed two groundballs and played
all 60 minutes in goal during the victory. Also Nominated: Samantha
Sisson, Shenandoah; Courtney Hamm, Ferrum; Kelsey Griffin,
LaGrange.
Men's Tennis
Rookie of the Week
Duncan Miller, Methodist - The
freshman from Birmingham, Alabama posted a 3-0 record at
the number-two singles flight and a 4-0 mark at the
number-one doubles position last week for the
Monarchs. Miller posted straight-set singles wins over
opponents from Young Harris, Penn State-Behrend and
Moravian. In doubles action, Miller teamed with Matthew
Taylor to earn each of the four victories last week. Also
Nominated: Andrey Yesyr, Averett.
Women's Tennis
Rookie of the Week
Sarah Stafford, Christopher Newport - The
freshman from Midlothian, Virginia has posted a 5-0
record at the number-one singles and doubles flights over the
past two weeks for the Captains. Three
of Stafford's five victories were of
the straight-set variety. In doubles action,
Stafford teamed with Marion Gloor to earn each of the
five victories last week. Also Nominated: Laura
Baker, Methodist.
