Golfer of the Week
Brock Elder, Greensboro - The
junior from Greensboro, North Carolina placed tied for
third at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in Atlanta,
Georgia last week by shooting a three-under par 213. In
the three-day event, Elder opened with a two-under par 70 then
shot a one-under par 71 before finishing with an even-par 72. His
performance helped The Pride to a fourth-place tie at the
event. Also Nominated: Mike Wesko, Methodist.
Golf Rookie of the Week
Dakun Chang, Methodist - The
freshman from Arden, North Carolina placed tied for 18th at
the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in Atlanta,
Georgia last week by shooting a three-over par 219. In
the three-day event, Chang opened with a three-over par 75
then shot a two-under par 70 before finishing with a two-over par
74. His performance helped the Monarchs capture the team
title at the event. Also Nominated: Scott Obenshain,
Ferrum.
