Golfer of the Week
Mike Wesko,
Methodist - The senior from Endicott,
New York finished first at the O'Briant-Jensen
Memorial Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina last week by
shooting a one-over par 141. In the two-day event,
Wesko opened with a one-over par 71 and finished with an
even-par 70. His performance helped the
Monarchs capture first place at the event. Also
Nominated: Scott Davidson, Christopher Newport; Scott
Novicki, Greensboro.
Golf Rookie of the Week
John Grimes, Greensboro - The
Matthews, North Carolina freshman placed tied for
seventh at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament in
Greensboro, North Carolina by shooting an eight-over par 148.
In the two-day event, Grimes opened with a one-over par
71 and finished with a seven-over par 77. His performance
helped The Pride to a third place finish at the event.
Also Nominated: Matt DiSalvo, Christopher Newport; Trevor Tucker,
Maryville.
