Golfer of the Week
Jeff Wells, Methodist - The
junior from Redondo Beach, California finished tied
for second at the Gordin Collegiate Classic in Columbus,
Ohio last week by shooting a three-under par 213. In the
three-day event, Wells opened with a two-over par 74,
followed with a three-under 69 and finished with a two-under par
70. His performance helped the Monarchs to a second place
finish at the event. Also Nominated: Andy Thorpe, Averett;
Scott Davidson, Christopher Newport.
Golf Rookie of the Week
Dalton
Berry, Averett - The Pine Hall, North
Carolina freshman placed tied for 17th at the
Virginia State Intercollegiate in Danville, Virginia last
week by shooting an 11-over par 151. In the two-day event,
Berry opened with a five-over par 75 and finished with a
sixe-over par 76. His performance helped the
Cougars first place finish at the event.
