- USA South Women's
Basketball History
-
- The USA South began sponsoring women's basketball championships in
1981-82,
with UNC-Greensboro winning or sharing the first seven regular season team
titles, and six of the first seven tournament titles. During the decade of
the 1990's, Christopher Newport University captured eight regular season
championships and two tournament titles. In recent years, Greensboro College
has seen success by capturing three of the last four regular season and
tournament championships.
