USA South Women's Volleyball History

- The USA South
began sponsoring women's volleyball championships in 1981, with
five different teams winning or sharing a regular season title
in the first five years. Averett has won or shared 13
regular season titles and has ten tournament titles to its
credit. Greensboro has seven regular season and four
tournament titles to its name. Most recently Christopher Newport
has shared or won six of the last seven regular season titles and
has captured five of the last seven tournament titles. UNC-Greensboro was the first
Conference team to win an NCAA Tournament match, accomplishing
the feat at the 1984 NCAA Div. III Championships.
