August 3, 2004 - The USA South Athletic Conference held its fourth
annual Football Media Day today. Coaches, administrators and media
all traveled to the Dunn Center on the campus of N.C. Wesleyan College
in Rocky Mount, NC for the event.
Representatives from all seven football-playing member schools were
present, along with Maryville Head Coach Tony Ierulli, whose team will
begin competition in 2005.
The day began with Conference Commissioner Rita Wiggs welcoming
everyone, followed by a greeting from Conference President and NCWC
Athletic Director John Thompson. Emcee Mike O'Dell from WZRV 95.3
FM in Winchester, VA took over from there. Averett's Mike
Dunlevy started things off with the coaches, as each one addressed the
assembled crowd and answered questions. The media session was then followed
by a buffet lunch and golf at Benvenue Country Club. The event was a
great way to kick off the upcoming USA South football season.
