USA South Holds Annual Football Media Day

(WILLIAMSBURG, Va.) - The USA South Athletic Conference held its seventh annual Football Media Day on July 31. Coaches, administrators and media all traveled to Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC for the event. Head Coaches from all eight, football-playing, member institutions were present and each gave a preview of their upcoming season.

Emcee Mike O'Dell, from Oldies 95.3 in Northern Virginia, began the day by introducing Methodist University President Dr. Elton Hendricks who welcoming everyone to the event and Fayetteville. Next, Rita Wiggs, Commissioner of the USA South, also welcomed everyone and expressed her excitement for the upcoming football season. Each Coach addressed the assembled crowd and answered questions. The media session was then followed by a buffet lunch and golf at nearby King's Grant.

For the first time in the Conference's history the event was video broadcasted live over the internet. Also, the preseason poll was released at the event for the first time.

The 2007 USA South football schedule kicks-off on Saturday, September 1 as six teams begin their seasons with non-conference action.
