USA South Holds Annual Football Media Day

(DANVILLE, Va.) - The USA South Athletic Conference held its eighth annual Football Media Day on August 5. Coaches, administrators and media all traveled to Averett University in Danville, VA for the event. Head Coaches from all eight, football-playing, member institutions were present and each gave a preview of their upcoming season.

Emcee Chuck Vipperman, from WBTM in Danville, began the day by introducing Averett University President Dr. Tiffany Franks who welcomed everyone to the event. Next, Mike Christie, Assistant Commissioner of the USA South, also welcomed everyone and expressed his excitement for the upcoming football season. Each Coach addressed the assembled crowd and answered questions. The media session was then followed by a buffet lunch and golf at nearby Danville Golf Club.

The preseason poll was released at the event as Christopher Newport University was picked to win the USA South title. Also, for the second consecutive year, the event was video broadcasted live over the internet.
