Methodist Holds "Take a Kid to the Game"

February 8, 2005 - For the eighth consecutive year,  Methodist College hosted "Take a Kid to the Game, " an NCAA-sponsored event that provides schools a national grassroots program designed to encourage adults to take children to collegiate athletic contests.

Local families, schools and various other youth organizations were invited to watch both the Methodist men and women take on Averett University.   Children were admitted free with a paying adult and were also offered free popcorn and soft drinks.  Upon admittance, kids were given goody bags, courtesy of sponsor Nelson & Nelson Chiropractic Center.  The kids were entered in drawings to win various door prizes and participate in basketball contests.  A good time was had by all.
