Meredith SAAC Holds Leadership Day
Raleigh, N.C. - This past weekend Meredith College
student-athletes participated in a peer devised Student-Athlete
Advisory Committee (SAAC) Leadership Day. Leaders from each of
Meredith's six sports teams were present. The event was designed to
promote unity, discuss the topic of Integrity and to allow each
participant the opportunity to evaluate their own leadership
style.
Athletes also had that opportunity to participate in a service
project for the Ronald McDonald House. This project challenged them
to use their creative side to paint canvasses that will be hung in
a local Ronald McDonald House. The paintings were cheerful
expressions of love, encouragement and fun that the athletes wish
to share with the children and families utilizing the Ronald
McDonald House.
The SAAC Leadership Day was a huge success and the Meredith
athletes hope to make this an annual event. The event co-chairs
were Caroline Cobb, Puja Patel, Anna Hayes, Meg Crumpton, Sara
Cranford and SAAC advisor Fiona Barkley.
