Spring Festival Press Conference Set for Sept. 20
(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - In May of 2011, the USA South Athletic Conference announced a partnership with the city of Rocky Mount, North Carolina to host the 2013 and 2014 Spring Sports Festivals. The festival features the tournaments of all six Conference spring sports. This year's event will take place April 11-14, 2013.
The City of Rocky Mount will conduct a press conference to announce the details of the upcoming Spring Sports Festival. The event will take place on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00am at City Stadium which is located at 600 Independence Drive, Rocky Mount, NC. USA South Commissioner Rita Wiggs and Rocky Mount Mayor David W. Combs will be on hand for the festivities.
As a preview to championships, the Rocky Mount Sports Festival Organizing Committee will be introduced and brief the community on progress being made on the tournaments, unveil the Sports Festival logo and share the city's tournament website.
The press conference is open to all media and the public is also invited to attend.
Rocky Mount's city limits fall within Edgecombe and Nash Counties. The city, named an All-America City in 1970 and 1999, is located halfway between New York and Florida directly on I-95 and US 64. Rocky Mount has played host to numerous collegiate events as well as regional and national recreation tournaments. The city is also home to USA South member North Carolina Wesleyan College.
