USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - Oct. 4, 2017

Golfer of the Week
Davis Cook, Piedmont - The senior from Duluth, Georgia finished first at the Piedmont College Fall Invitational last week by shooting a one-over par 145. In the two-day event, Cook opened with a three-over par 75 and finished with a career-best two-under par 70. His performance helped the Lions to a first place finish at the event. Also Nominated: Kevin Kim, Berea; Scott Campbell, Greensboro; Samuli Ahvenoja, Averett.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Christian Payne, Piedmont - The freshman from Cumming, Georgia finished sixth at the Piedmont College Fall Invitational last week by shooting a four-over par 148. In the two-day event, Payne shot a two-over par 74 on each day. His performance helped the Lions to a first place finish at the event. Also Nominated: Niklas Grotterud, Averett.
