USA South
Launches "You Tube" Channel
In an effort to increase the
publicity of Conference events and its member institutions through
the use of video content, the USA South Athletic Conference has
launched a channel on the popular "You Tube" website. |

N.C. Wesleyan Unveils “Don Scalf Court”
Considered one of
the College’s most outstanding associates, Scalf came to
Wesleyan in 1962 as a physical education instructor. He went on
to serve the College for 36 years while coaching a variety of
sports. Additionally, he was the second Director of Athletics in
Bishops history, a position which he held for six years.

N.C. Wesleyan sits at ninth while Greensboro is
ranked 25th in the NSCAA National Preseason Top-25.

Greg Jarvis has been named as an Assistant
Athletics Director in addition to his current duties as Sports
Information Director while Head Tennis Coach and Assistant
Athletics Director Kelly Weaver has been appointed Meredith’s
Senior Woman Administrator.

Drew Wilson most recently served as
the sports editor at the Danville Register & Bee, where he took
home Virginia Press Association Awards for illustrations, column
writing, sports pages and page designs in 2007.

Michael
Kotelnicki comes to Shenandoah after spending the past two years
as the head athletics trainer at W.T. Woodson High School in
Fairfax, Virginia.

The USA South Athletic Conference held its eighth
annual Football Media Day on August 5. Coaches, administrators
and media all traveled to Averett University in Danville, VA for
the event.

The Captains,
under the direction of eighth-year Head Coach Matt Kelchner, was
picked in the preseason coaches' poll to win the USA South
Athletic Conference football title in 2008.

Greensboro Leads NCCSIA Survey
The North Carolina Collegiate Sports
information Association (NCCSIA) completed its fifth year of
recognizing “All State” student-athletes and The Pride lead the
college division with 39 all time honorees, including 10 in the
2007-08 year.

USA South Football Media Guide
Released
The Conference will kickoff the 2008 season by holding
it's annual Football Media Day. The event will be hosted by Averett University and take place
on Tuesday, August 5 at 10:30 a.m.

Sargent Named New Head Athletic Trainer at Peace
Lyndee Sargent joins the Pacer Department
of Athletics as the new Head Athletic Trainer. Originally from
New York, Sargent earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic
Training from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

Jones Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director
Peace College Director of Athletics, Kelly Johnson announced
that Wendy Jones has been named Assistant Director of Athletics.
Jones will continue as Sports Information Director as well as
Senior Woman Administrator duties for the college.

Kurvink Named Methodist Men's Tennis Coach
Methodist University Director of
Athletics Bob McEvoy has announced that David Kurvink has been
hired as the university’s new head men's tennis coach. |

Maryville's Ierulli Named to NCAA Committee
Tony Ierulli, the Head Football Coach at Maryville
College, has been named to the NCAA Football Rules Committee. |
