Greensboro Tops USA South Lacrosse Pre-Season Poll

February 3, 2004 - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced the results of its 2004 lacrosse pre-season poll and Greensboro has been picked to finish first this season.  The Pride won both the regular season title and  the Conference tournament in 2003.  They finished the year 13-4, including 5-0 in Conference action.  Christopher Newport has been predicted to finish second in 2004.  The Captains finished one game behind the Pride last year, going 4-1 in the Conference and 7-7 overall.  The 2004 USA South lacrosse season kicks off February 22. 

The poll is voted on by the lacrosse coach at each institution.  Each school was not allowed to vote for its own team.  Greensboro received four first-place votes, while Christopher Newport received the remaining two.
