Golf Awards Announced

April 21, 2004 – The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its end of the year awards for golf. 
The All-Conference teams were determined at the Conference tournament over the weekend and can be found below.  Methodist's Adam Horton has been named the Player of the Year.  Josh Meador of Christopher Newport is the Rookie of the Year.  MC's Steve Conley is the 2004 Coach of the Year. 

Horton, a junior from Chesapeake, VA, led the Monarchs to the Conference championship.  He also won the USA South championship individually at the second hole of a sudden death playoff round.  Horton won three other tournament titles this year. 

A freshman from Mechanicsville, VA, Meador helped the Captains finish fifth at the Conference tournament.  He posted a 76.36 average this spring.  Meador earned Second Team All-Conference honors after his performance at the USA South tournament. 

Conley just finished his 16th year at the helm of the Monarchs.  He led them to their 22cd Conference championship overall, 15th under him.  The team was ranked number one in the nation all year.
