Men's Tennis Awards Announced

April 21, 2004 – The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its end of the year awards for men's tennis. 
The All-Conference teams were determined at the Conference tournament over the weekend and can be found below.  Averett's Sirsean Arlain has been named the Player of the Year.  Cougar Jose Licera is the Rookie of the Year.  Their coach Vesa Hiltunen is the 2004 Coach of the Year. 

Arlain, a sophomore from Castries, St. Lucia, led the Cougars to a USA South tournament title.  He won the number one singles title and was the runner up at number two doubles.  He finished the regular season 5-1.

A freshman from Lima, Peru, Licera played a key role in the Cougars winning the Conference title.  He was the champion at number five singles and number one doubles.  He went undefeated in Conference play this season.

Hiltunen led the Cougars to their ninth tournament title.  He coached three singles champions and two doubles champions.  The team finished the season 10-7 overall and 5-1 in USA South action.
