Christopher Newport Wins President's Cup

April 26, 2004 - Following the conclusion of all 2003-2004 USA South competition, the standings for the President's Cup has been determined.  Christopher Newport has won the title for the seventh consecutive year and 13th overall.  After a strong spring, Methodist finished second in the points standings.

The USA South Athletic Conference President's Cup symbolizes the league's top overall athletic program each year.  The President's Cup is awarded on the basis of a graduated point system, giving eight or nine points (for men's and women's, respectively) for a conference championship, one for last place, and a pro-rated share for each finish in between, based on the number of schools which sponsor a given sport
