Methodist Tops Baseball Pre-Season Poll

January 20, 2005 - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced the results of its 2005 baseball pre-season poll.  Methodist has been selected to finish first this upcoming season.  Christopher Newport follows closely behind at second.  The poll is voted on by the baseball coach at each school.  The Monarchs won the Conference Tournament last season, after finishing fifth in the regular season.  They ended the year 30-19 overall and 10-11 in USA South action.  The Captains finished the 2004 regular season in second place and posted a 25-16 record overall, including 14-7 in the Conference.
