Lacrosse Tournament Seeding Set

April 9, 2005 - Following the conclusion of the regular season Saturday, the seeding for the 2005 USA South Lacrosse Tournament has been set.  Christopher Newport won the regular season and earned the number one seed. Greensboro picked up the second seed as Methodist earned the third seed.  Shenandoah starts tournament play as the fourth seed followed by Ferrum at fifth and Averett in the sixth spot. 

The tournament opens Tuesday with two quarterfinal games with Methodist hosting Averett at 2 p.m. in Fayetteville, North Carolina and Shenandoah will host Ferrum at 4 p.m. in Winchester, Virginia.  The tournament will then resume on Saturday at Averett Univeristy in Danville, Virginia.  In the first semi-final at 1 p.m., Christopher Newport will face the winner of the Shenandoah/Ferrum game.  Greensboro will take on the Methodist/Averett winner at 4 p.m.  The winners of those two semi-final games will meet for the championship at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
