USA South Men's Soccer Awards Announced

(FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards men's soccer.  A total of 33 student-athletes have been named to the USA South All-Conference teams for men's soccer.  Tony Falvino of Greensboro has been named the Player of the Year.  N.C. Wesleyan's Philip Lyding is the Rookie of the Year and his coach, Jason Kilby, is the Coach of the Year. 

Falvino, a senior from Johnsonville, New Zealand anchored The Pride's defense.  He helped the team finish the regular season second with a 5-1 USA South record, 8-6-2 overall.  This is Falvino's third consecutive First Team All-Conference honor.  He was named to the Second Team his freshman year in 2002. 

Lyding, a Hanover, Germany junior, was instrumental in the Bishops defending the USA South regular season title.  He had five goals, five assists for 15 points for the season. 

Kilby, in his fourth-year as the head of the Bishops, took them to their second consecutive regular season title and top seeding in the Conference tournament.  The team finished 13-4 overall, including going undefeated, 6-0, in the USA South.
