USA South Women's Soccer Awards Announced

(FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards women's soccer.  A total of 33 student-athletes have been named to the USA South All-Conference teams for men's soccer. Christopher Newport's Emily Renkin has been named the Player of the Year.  Greensboro's Ashton Oliver is the Rookie of the Year.  Captains' head coach Kwame Lloyd is the Coach of the Year.

Renkin, a junior midfielder from Midlothian, Va., played an integral role in the Captains winning the USA South regular season title.  She was first on the team in points (31) and goals (14).  Christopher Newport heads into the Conference tournament as the top seed.. 

Oliver, a Gibsonville, Va. freshman forward, led The Pride to a 7-9-1 overall record, 4-1-1 in the USA South and second place regular season finish.  She recorded 11 goals and one assist for 23 points this season. 

Lloyd, in his fifth-year as the head of the Captains, took them to their fourth consecutive regular season title.  This is Lloyd's third Coach of the Year honor in five years.  The Captains are the top seed in the USA South Tournament and will host the event this weekend.
