USA South Men's Tennis Awards Announced

(FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for men's tennis.  A total of 17 student-athletes have been named to the USA South All-Conference teams for men's tennis.  Methodist College's Keith Crisco has been named the Player of the Year while teammate, Matthew Siegel is the Rookie of the Year.  Ferrum College's Gary Holden was named the 2006 Coach of the Year. 

Criscoe, a senior from Southern Pines, N.C. helped lead the Monarchs to an 15-5 overall record and a 5-1 record in the Conference.  He had a 4-0 conference record at No. 1 singles and a 3-1 record at No. 1 doubles.

A sophomore from Fairfield, Calif., Siegel helped the Monarchs finish second in the USA South with a 15-5 overall record and 5-1 in the conference.  Siegel was 4-1 in conference  play and 3-2 in conference doubles matches.

Holden is in his eighth year at the helm of the Panthers.  His team posted a record of 11-6 overall and 3-3 in conference play this season.  This year is the second time Holden has been honored as the USA South Coach of the Year.
