Averett Captures USA South Volleyball Tournament Championship
(FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) - The 2006 USA South
Volleyball Tournament concluded Saturday, Nov. 4 with Averett University
defeating Christopher Newport University, 3-2, in the championship
match. The two teams went back and forth before the top-seeded Cougars
took the decisive fifth game. With the victory, the Cougars receive the
conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Averett now travels to Trinity, Texas where they will face Southwestern
(TX) on Nov. 9 in the first round of the tournament.
