Averett Captures USA South Men's Basketball Tournament Championship
(FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) - The 2007 USA South Men's Basketball Tournament concluded on Saturday, February 24 with Averett defeating N.C. Wesleyan, 108-105 in double overtime, in the championship game. In a back and forth battle, the Cougars finally prevailed in two extra sessions. With the victory, the Cougars receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
