USA South Baseball Tournament Underway With First Day Action

(BURLINGTON, N.C.) - The 2008 USA South Baseball Tournament has begun in Burlington, N.C. To kickoff the double-elimination tournament, fourth-seeded Methodist defeated fifth-seeded Shenandoah, 5-3. Third-seeded Greensboro then earned a win over sixth-seeded Ferrum, 5-1, before second-seeded N.C. Wesleyan handled seventh-seeded Averett, 9-2, in the third game of the day. In the final contest, Shenandoah became the first team eliminated as the Hornets fell to top-seeded Christopher Newport, 6-4.
