Christopher Newport Wins USA South Cheerleading Championship

(FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) - Christopher Newport University, under the direction of Coach Erica Flanigan was selected as the 2008 USA South Cheerleading Champions. After nearly a decade without a competition, the Conference approved the reinstitution of the championship. The Captains captured the title with a total of 288.0 points and will perform their winning routine during halftime of both the women's and men's basketball championship games at CNU on Saturday, March 1.
