March 25, 2008 USA South Athletes Selected to Attend NCAA Conference (FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - Student-athletes from three USA South institutions have been chosen to attend the annual NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference which will take place in Orlando, Florida this May. Christopher Newport's Erin Wojtkun, Mary Baldwin's Jennifer Dobson and Kara Jenkins will join North Carolina Wesleyan's Sydney Bens and Quinderra Spellman at the event. This event provides NCAA student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while also providing them with the opportunity to enhance their leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. In addition, the program promotes better communication among student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty and communities. The NCAA has increased the number of opportunities for student-athletes to participate in the conference to 700 beginning with the 2008 event taking place at the Walt Disney World Resort. |
