USA South SAAC Representatives Meet at Basketball Tournament

(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) - The USA South Student Athlete Advisor Committee (SAAC) held its annual meeting last week at Christopher Newport University, in conjunction with the USA South Men's and Women's basketball tournament hosted by the Captains. The USA South SAAC is comprised of two members from each Conference institution.

The group first met on Friday night as Julia Weaver, a learning and development specialist, conducted a presentation on diversity. The SAAC members learned what diversity is, focused on personal identity and were shown examples of adapting to different cultures. The following morning, the group met for their business session to discuss Conference and NCAA issues that affect the student-athlete.
