The team consists of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities.  Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals.  NCCSIA members voted for the all-state teams.

Founded in 2002, The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina.  The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools.  Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.  NCSSIA will select all-state teams for softball and baseball in the spring.

Three members of Greensboro College’s USA South Conference championship squad were named to the NCCSIA all-state.  The Pride posted a 14-4-2 record and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second-straight year.

Junior Shannon Kelly and senior Kym Maher were chosen for the all-state team in the midfield, while sophomore Amanda McGlaughlin was tabbed for the squad at forward.  Kelly scored six goals and assisted on nine others during the season and was named to the USA South all-conference second team as well as the league all-tournament team.

Maher produced 10 goals and one assist for the Pride and was selected to the all-league first team.  McGlaughlin scored seven goals and assisted on 10 others and earned first-team all-conference honors for the second-straight year.

Teri Almond of USA South regular season co-champion Methodist was named to the all-state team as a defender.  She led the Monarch defense that notched 10 shutouts while producing a 12-6-1 record.  Almond, who scored three goals and assisted on five others, was a first-team all-conference pick.
