Two Women, Three Men Named All-State

 

March 25, 2003 - The Virginia Sports Information Directors Association has announced its 2003 College Division All-State Men's and Women's Basketball Teams. Players are nominated by their Sports Information Directors and then are voted on by the VaSID constituency.  Two women and three men DIAC players were named All-State.

Christopher Newport's Tia Moore was the only DIAC athlete named to the All-State First Team.  The senior from Washington, DC was the 2003 DIAC Player of the Year.  Shenandoah's Dee Fisher made the All-State Second Team.  The Arlington, VA freshman was named DIAC Rookie of the Year for her efforts this season. 

Christopher Newport's Terry Gray and Jermaine Woods were both named Second Team All-State.  Gray, a senior from Norfolk, VA,  has also been recognized as DIAC Player of the Year and D3hoops.com Third Team All-American this year.  Woods, also a senior from Norfolk,  has been First Team All-Conference the past two seasons.  Shenandoah's Tyson Thompson was named All-State Honorable Mention.  The Keysville, VA senior was Second Team All-DIAC this season.
