Averett Men's Basketball
Ranked 12th While Christopher Newport Lands at 25th In Current D3Hoops.com Top-25 Poll
December 19, 2006 - Two USA South
teams are nationally ranked as Averett is 12th and Christopher Newport
is 25th. The Cougars rose three spots after defeating Newport News,
85-68, and Marymount (Va.), 88-72, in their only action last week. Averett, which owns a
9-0 record, is off
to the best start in its program's history. Christopher Newport returns
to the Top-25 after being ranked in the preseason poll. CNU currently
holds a 5-2 record and has won its last five games. The
poll is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors
and writers from around the country and is published weekly at
