Two Men's Basketball Players Named All-State

March 31, 2004 – The Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID) has announced its 2004 Men's Basketball All-State Team.   Shenandoah's Chris Rhone made the First Team, while Christopher Newport's Otho Hampton was named to the Second Team.  The team members are nominated by and voted upon by Sports Information Directors at colleges and universities in the Commonwealth. 

Rhone, a junior from Washington, D.C., led the Hornets with 19.9 points and 3.4 assists per game this season.  He was named to the First Team All-Conference, the All-Tournament Team and the D3hoops.com All-Region Team.  He led the Hornets to a 16-10 finish, including going 10-4 in Conference action.

A junior from Charleston, SC, Hampton led the Captains with 15.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the year.  The team finished 15-11 overall and 9-5 in the USA South.  Hampton was named Second Team All-Conference and D3hoops.com All-Region.
