Methodist and Greensboro Ranked in the Top-5 of the GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

(NORMAN, Okla.) - Methodist College and Greensboro College both are ranked in the Top-5 of the Golf Coaches Association of America/Bridgestone Division III Top-25 that was released Sept. 22. 

Methodist the three-time defending USA South Athletic Conference are ranked second.  The Monarchs' 441 points were only 13 points behind Guilford College, the defending national champions.  Methodist who also garnered six first-place votes finished fourth last May in the NCAA Division III Championship held at Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla.

Greensboro's 373 points earned them a fifth-place ranking in the first poll released for the 2005-2006 Division III men's golf season.  The Pride last May shot a 1,199 to finish third at the NCAA DIvision III Championship.

Methodist, Greensboro and the other five men's golf teams in the USA South will compete in tournament this fall and next spring before competing in the 2006 USA South Athletic Conference Championship.  The 2006 Championship will be held April 14 and 15 on the 6,635 yard, par 72 Stoney Creek Golf Club in Burlington, N.C.
