Two Women's Soccer Players Named All-State

December 12, 2003 – The Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID) has announced their 2003 All-State Women's Soccer Team.  Two Christopher Newport players represent the USA South on the team.  Ashleigh Dota was named to the First Team and Melisa Davis was named Honorable Mention.

Dota, a sophomore midfielder from Woodbridge, VA, was the 2003 USA South Player of the Year.  This was her second straight year named First Team All-Conference.  She scored eight goals and added three assists for the Captains this season. 

Davis, a junior defender from Charlottesville, VA, was also a 2003 First Team USA South selection.  She scored two goals and had four assists this season.  The Captains finished the year 15-6, including going 7-1 in Conference play.
