Baseball Player of the Week
         Kevin Mong, Greensboro - The senior first baseman/designated hitter from Franklin, PA  hit .500 with seven RBI's, two homeruns and two doubles.  The Pride were 3-1 last week as they defeated Hampden-Sydney, 7-6, North Carolina Wesleyan, 2-0 and 10-8, then suffered a 11-0 set back to N.C. Wesleyan.   Also nominated: David Hoffman, Methodist; John Corbin, Christopher Newport; and David Jenkins, Shenandoah.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
         Ryan Brandt, Methodist - The Durham, NC,  junior fired a complete game two-hit shutout in game one at Shenandoah with four strikeouts and one walk.  The complete game was his fourth of the season and his second shutout in conference play.  Also nominated: AnDrew Keever, Greensboro
  
Softball Player of the Week
         Lindsay Leitao, Methodist - The senior right fielder from Taunton, MA, hit .800 with four RBI's and three home runs.  Leitao set Methodist's career home run record (13) as she hit three home runs in Methodist's doubleheader sweep of Meredith.  Also nominated: Tricia Moore, Ferrum; Stephanie Greene, Averett; Shelley Hinson, N.C. Wesleyan, C.J. McQueen, Christopher Newport; and Jamie Pittman, Greensboro.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
        Lauren Pleasant, Peace - The Raleigh NC, sophomore  had a 2-1 week  for the Pacers.  She pitched 28 innings, with a 0.75 ERA as she gave up 12 hits while striking out 27 batters.  Peace was 2-2 on the week with a sweep of Averett, 6-0, 4-2, on Saturday.  Also nominated: Michelle Kass-Prewitt, Christopher Newport; Jamie Pittman, Greensboro; Jennifer Sorensen, Methodist; Brittany Estep, Averett; and Kim Cox, Ferrum.

Lacrosse Player of the Week
        Amanda McGlaughlin, Greensboro - The Laytonsville, MD, junior played a key role in the Prides' 3-0 week.  She earned 20 points as she scored 10 goals and 10 assists.  Greensboro defeated Hartwick, 13-10, Roanoke, 15-9 and Ferrum, 16-0.  Also nominated: Lauren McGonagle, Methodist; Melissa Bryant, Shenandoah; and Kristyn Hankins, Christopher Newport.

Golfer of the Week
        Eric Dugas, Methodist - The Brewster, MA,  senior fired a 143 (67-76) at the Camp LeJune Invitational.  Methodist shot a two-round total of 576 to finish third as a team.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
       Keith Criscoe, Methodist - The Southern Pines, NC, senior  had a 4-0 week in singles and went 4-0 in doubles.  He won the Bud Skeens Memorial Tournament in both singles and doubles.   Also nominated: Mikko Hermans, Averett.

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
       Whitney Gilmore, Peace - The sophomore from Burlington, NC,  went 1-0 in the #1 singles flight and 1-0 in #1 doubles flight.    She won her #1 singles match, 6-1, 6-2.  Peace went 1-0 on the week with an 8-0 win over Shenandoah.   Also nominated: Joanna McCandlish, Christopher Newport; Julie Angrick, Methodist; and Kate Creasy, Greensboro.

Baseball Rookie of the Week
       Jeff Gregory, Greensboro - The freshman shortstop from Fairfax, VA,  hit .444 over the course of three games and added a RBI, and two doubles.  The Pride were 3-1 last week as they defeated Hampden-Sydney, 7-6, North Carolina Wesleyan, 2-0 and 10-8, then suffered a 11-0 set back to N.C. Wesleyan.  Also nominated; Kyle Eudy, Methodist.

Baseball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
      Kenny Moreland, Christopher Newport -  The freshman from Springfield, VA had a 3-1 win over Averett.  He allowed one unearned run, gave up five hits, and struck out 12 in a seven inning complete game.  Also nominated: Kevin Showe, Greensboro; and Taylor DuFrene, Shenandoah.

Softball Rookie of the Week
       Tanya Lauranzon, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman designated player from Richmond, VA,  was 11-for-22 in seven games.  She had three RBI's and two doubles to help the Bishops post a 6-1 record on the week.   Also nominated: Mary Greenway, Ferrum; Sarah Heenan, Peace; Tana Bartek, Shenandoah; and Jenee Johnson, Greensboro.

Softball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
     Libby Fulford, N.C. Wesleyan  -  The freshman from Rocky Mt., NC,  went 2-1 on the week as she appeared in five games.  She pitched 18.1 innings, giving up 18 hits as she struck out 19 batters.  The Bishops were 6-1 for the week.  Also nominated: Janet Fairchild, Christopher Newport; and Stacy Vaughn, Methodist.

Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
     Jennifer Donah, Greensboro - The freshman from Easthampton, MA, scored three goals and had three assists on her way to earning nine points. The Pride were 3-0 on the week as they defeated Hartwick, 13-10, Roanoke, 15-9 and Ferrum, 16-0.  Also nominated: Katelyn Cushman, Methodist.

Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
     Chris Fletcher, Methodist - The freshman from New Castle, OH,  went 4-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles.  Fletcher won the Bud Skeens Memorial Tournament in both singles and doubles.  Also nominated: Drew McLachlan, N.C. Wesleyan; and Eddie Glidewell, Christopher Newport.

Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week

     Jenny Smith, Methodist - The freshman from High Point, NC,  was perfect on the week going, 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles as the Monarchs were 3-0 on the week.  She never lost a set in wins at #2 singles against, Greensboro, Averett and Ferrum.  Also nominated: Kirsi Turunen, Averett; Carrie Pacifico, Greensboro; Lindsey Tarlton, Peace.
