Tennis Player of the Week
          Chris Fletcher, Methodist - The senior from New Castle, New Hampshire totaled a 5-1 singles record and a 2-1 doubles mark at the ITA Southeast Regionals last week. As the sixth-seeded singles player in the top flight, Fletcher reached the finals of the tournament before falling in a third-set tiebreaker. Fletcher won five matches to reach the finals, including a 6-0, 6-1 quarterfinal victory over the top-seeded player in the draw. In doubles action, Fletcher teamed with his brother, Andrew, to win two matches, falling in the quarterfinals to the top-seeded duo from Christopher Newport. Also Nominated: John Mook, Christopher Newport; David Sutton, Greensboro.
 

Tennis Rookie of the Week

Tennis Rookie of the Week
          Ricky Connor, Christopher Newport - The freshman from Alexandria, Virginia totaled a 4-0 singles record and a 3-1 doubles mark at the ITA Southeast Regionals last week. In the B-2 singles flight Connor was crowned champion by going 4-0 without losing more than four games in any match. He defeated Todd Green of Washington (Md.), 6-0, 6-0, for the title. In doubles action, Connor teamed with Dylan Young to win three matches before falling in the finals, in a tiebreaker. Also Nominated: Mike Roth, Methodist.

Golfer of the Week

Golfer of the Week
          Nick Bova, Methodist - The senior from Bloomington, Illinois shot a nine-under par 135 to win the Greensboro Invitational. Bova, who won his third collegiate tournament, led the Monarchs to a first place finish in the two-day tournament. Bova shot a first round 69 then followed with a career-low 66 in round two. Also Nominated: Josh Cumming, Greensboro.
 

Golf Rookie of the Week

Golf Rookie of the Week
          Joshua Ryals, Greensboro - The freshman from Randleman, North Carolina shot an 11-over 155 at the Greensboro Invitational. Ryals shot an opening round 77 and followed with a 78 in his closing round to finish second on the team and tied for 33rd overall at the tournament.
