Athlete of the Week

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
          Jonathan Rumley, Averett - The junior guard from Winston Salem, North Carolina led the Cougars in scoring as they fell, 82-79 in overtime, to Oneonta State in their only action last week. Rumley scored a team-high 16 points, on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, with six assists, five steals and three rebounds. Also Nominated: Bruce Zamuel, Greensboro.

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
      LeuMichael Smith, Methodist - The Clarkton, North Carolina freshman guard led the Monarchs in scoring as they fell, 88-75, at Maryville in their only action last week. Smith scored a team-high 13 points with three assists, three steals and two rebounds. Smith was also 9-of-11 from the free-throw line in the loss.
