FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Alex Kachler of the Methodist University baseball team was named an Honorable Mention All-American by D3Baseball.com and a Third Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

Kachler, who is a native of Lithia, Florida, earned second team all-region honors from D3Baseball.com on Monday afternoon.

On the season, Kachler batted .397, which led the team and was among conference leaders. His 59 RBI paced the conference and still ranks among national leaders. . Kachler also finished the year with a .615 slugging percentage, 69 hits, 18 doubles, four home runs, 29 walks and a .990 fielding percentage in nearly 200 total chances. In addition to this accolade, Kachler was selected First Team All-USA South in April.

Kachler is one of two players from the USA South to grab All-America recognition from D3Baseball.com as Brady Ballstadt of Piedmont claimed first team honors. Ballstadt was also named Player of the Year in the South region earlier this week.

This marks the first appearance on the D3Baseball.com All-America list for a Monarch since Chris Perry in 2012 (Honorable Mention).

In addition to the Honorable Mention All-America nod, Kachler received first team all-region laurels from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings, which was released on Tuesday.
