Averett Golf Helps Aid Danville First Tee program

DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University golf coach John Franklin and senior golfer Travis Bowman helped raise $200 to support the First Tee of Danville, a local chapter of a national non-profit organization thats mission to "impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character-development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf."

Franklin and Bowman also competed with some of the kids in the First Tee program during a golf tournament at Goodyear Golf Club. Bowman regularly volunteers with First Tee of Danville and helps out with golf lessons for the kids.
