(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL) - The 2017 NCAA Division III National Tournament has completed its third day of action in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida at the Mission Inn Resort and Club. The USA South is represented by four teams, Greensboro College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College and Methodist University as well as one individual from Ferrum College, at the 72-hole event. Each of the League's representation made yesterday's cuts to continue play today.
Huntingdon continues to lead the USA South contingent but dropped two spots overall and is now third with a 26-over par 890, three shots off the lead. Greensboro maintained its position in a fourth place tie with a 27-over par 891 and is four shots off the tournament lead. Methodist also stayed put, in its eighth spot, as they have totaled a 44-over par 908. Finally, LaGrange fell four spots and now sits tied for 12th with a 50-over par 914.
Individually, Huntingdon's Stephen Shephard is the top USA South performer so far as he as totaled a two-over par 218 good for a third place tie, just one shot off the tournament lead. Brandon Bailey from Ferrum, who earned a spot to the tournament as individual, sits tied for 25th with an eight-over par 224.
The tournament will continue with one more round through Friday, May 19.
