N.C. Wesleyan Men's Tennis Picked to Defend USA South Title
(FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) - N.C. Wesleyan College, under fifth-year Head Coach Dominic Modise, was picked to win the 2012 USA South Athletic Conference men's tennis title in the preseason coaches' poll. The Bishops captured both the USA South Regular Season and Tournament crowns last spring for the third consecutive season.
N.C. Wesleyan received six of seven first-place votes (36 points) as head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
Christopher Newport University earned second in the poll with 31 points and the final first-place vote. Averett University placed third in the poll with 24 points while Methodist University followed in fourth with 23 points. The top-four spots in the poll remain the same as a year ago while Greensboro College, Shenandoah University and Ferrum College, respectfully, round out the voting.
The 2012 USA South Men's Tennis Tournament will once again be played at the Burlington Tennis Center in Burlington, North Carolina on April 13-15.
