Methodist's Patterson Named ITA Men's Tennis Scholar Athlete
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released their academic awards for the 2011-12 year. Methodist's Greg Patterson has been recognized as a Scholar-Athlete.
Student-athletes must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters in order to qualify for ITA Scholar-Athlete status.
Patterson qualified for the award after a successful year both on and off the court. This past season he earned USA South Honorable Mention recognition helping the team to tie for second in the conference standings. He is a two-time Methodist Scholar Athlete and USA South Academic All-Conference selection and was most recently named the 2011-12 Methodist Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.
