Greensboro Women Soccer's Spooner to be Inducted into Radford HOF

(GREENSBORO, NC) - Greensboro College head women's soccer coach Ian Spooner will be inducted into the Radford University Athletics Hall of Fame on October 6, 2012. Spooner, who is entering his fifth year at the helm of The Pride women's soccer program this fall, was one of five individuals selected to the Hall of Fame.

A 1998 graduate of Radford, Spooner is the only two-time Big South Player of the Year in Highlander program history. His name remains inked all over the school record book, as he ranks in the top three in several career and single-season categories. Spooner also continues to be ranked highly in Big South Conference history in career goals and points, as well as single-season goals and total points.

In his four years at Greensboro College, Spooner has a record of 41-26-6 with three consecutive double digit win totals. He has also led The Pride to the USA South Tournament semi-finals in each of his four seasons. Spooner has coached 26 USA South All-Conference honorees and two Rookie-of-the-Year selections.
