Women's Tennis All-Conference Teams Named

The Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its 2003 Women's Tennis All-Conference selections.  The First and Second All-Conference Teams are determined by the top finishers at the Conference tournament, held April 18-19.  The major award winners are voted on by the tennis coaches and Sports Information Directors at each institution. 

Christopher Newport's Jenny Nuttycombe is the 2003 Coach of the Year.  She has guided her team from 16 points and a 5th place finish in 2002 to 45 points and 2nd place in the 2003 Dixie Tournament.  Nuttycombe’s team went 6-8 last year and 5-2 in the Dixie and improved that record to 10-2 overall and 5-1 in the Dixie Conference this season

Elena Blanina of Methodist has been named the Player of the Year for the third consecutive year.  She went undefeated in singles play and won her third straight DIAC championship this season

Courtney Bull, also of Methodist, is the Rookie of the Year.  She won the DIAC championship at the No. 3 seed.
