Christopher Newport's Men and Women Win Cross Country Championships

GREENSBORO, NC-  The Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference held its 2002 Cross Country Conference Championships at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro, NC today.  Christopher Newport took home both the men's and women's team championships.  Greensboro's men came in second, with Ferrum following closely behind.  Individually, Matt Sinclair of CNU won the men's championship with a finishing time of 26:56.  His teammates Jim Highsmith and David Bare finished second and third with times of 27:33 and 27:37, respectively.  For the women, Ferrum was the runner-up with Shenandoah following rounding off the top three.  Aimee Gibbs of CNU won the women's championship with a time of 21:41.  Ferrum's Lalita Brim came in second with a time of 23:05 and Lindsey Newell of CNU finished third at 23:34.  Today's results follow:
