(STAUNTON, VA) - The USA South Athletic Conference presented its 2018 Sportsmanship Trophy to Mary Baldwin University at the Fighting Squirrels' women's basketball game versus Salem College on Saturday, February 2. USA South Commissioner Dr. Tom Hart was on-hand to present the award to Mary Bladwin President Dr. Pamela Fox, Director of Athletics Jonas Worth, Provost Ty Buckman and student-athletes from various Mary Baldwin athletic programs that earned individual team sportsmanship honors last year.
The Sportsmanship Trophy honors the institution which exhibited the best sportsmanship during the year as voted upon by the Conference's student-athletes. This season, Mary Baldwin will share the trophy with Covenant College.
Last year, Mary Baldwin's women's basketball, softball and women's tennis teams earned individual sport sportsmanship awards as the Fighting Squirrels captured the USA South Sportsmanship Trophy for a Conference-record sixth time.
