N.C. Wesleyan Men's Tennis Picked to Defend USA South Title

(FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) – N.C. Wesleyan College, under second-year Head Coach Andres Amores, was picked to win the 2015 USA South Athletic Conference men's tennis title in the preseason coaches' poll. The Bishops captured both the USA South Regular Season and Tournament crowns last spring for the sixth consecutive season. N.C. Wesleyan received eighth of ten first place votes and 80 points as head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.

Methodist University, last season's tournament runners-up, finished second in the balloting with 70 points and one first place vote. Placing third in the poll with 68 points and the final first place vote was Huntingdon College followed closely in fourth by Piedmont College who grabbed 58 points. Averett University ranked fifth with 45 points and was followed closely in sixth by LaGrange College who totaled 41 points.

The men's tennis spring season gets underway during the weekend of February 13-15 as three teams are in action.

The 2015 USA South Men's Tennis Tournament will be played April 17-19 on the campus of N.C. Wesleyan as a part of the USA South Spring Sports Festival in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
