RALEIGH, N.C. -- Meredith College rising senior midfielder Holly Hite earned the program's first All-American honor as a member of the IWLCA Division III third team. Of the 57 players named to a team, Hite was one of only four who did not play for a top-25 Division III lacrosse program, according to the final coaches poll released in late-May.
Hite helped lead the Avenging Angels to their fifth consecutive USA South Tournament Championship this spring with a second-round appearance in NCAA tournament action. For the third season Meredith swept the USA South Conference competition to earn a third Regular Season title as well.
In May Hite earned her second career All-Chesapeake Region honor. A two-time All-Conference first team selection, Hite collected her second league All-Tournament Most Valuable Player award in April. She closed out the season as the USA South's all-time career leader with 346 draw controls, as well as leading the league with 117 draws in a single season for 2018.
Hite returns to the turf next year as one of five senior Avenging Angels who will work to maintain the championship legacy of Head Coach Lauren Scott.
